UMMAT DAILY ■ West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil appealed to the public not to go far and not to travel to areas that have Red Zone or high risk status.

Emil's appeal was conveyed following the increase in the red zone area. Data for the period November 23, 2020 to November 29, 2020, six regions in West Java have the status of the Red Zone, namely Indramayu, Purwakarta, Karawang, West Bandung, Bandung City, and Banjar City Regencies.

Then, 19 areas in West Java have the status of the Orange Zone. Only Cianjur and Pangandaran Regencies have Yellow Zone status.

"I announced yesterday, this is the first time the City of Bandung has become a Red Zone, so I urge tourists to refrain from going to Bandung Raya because the zone is red and the control process is getting better," Emil said in Depok, Wednesday, 2 December 2020.

Emil said, after a long holiday at the end of October 2020, there was an increase in Covid-19 cases. Therefore, he appealed to the people of West Java to hold back and avoid crowds.

"The story from the long holiday shows that there has been an increase in (Covid-19 cases). Therefore, to protect unwanted things, I think we hold ourselves back first, don't travel too far, then don't crowd," he said.

Emil also reported that the occupancy rate of the referral hospital isolation rooms in the Bogor-Depok-Bekasi and Bandung Raya areas (Bandung City, Cimahi, Bandung Regency, West Bandung, and Sumedang) was more than the standard threshold of the World Health Organization (WHO), namely 60 percent.

He reported, based on data as of November 29, 2020, the cure rate for Covid-19 patients in West Java reached 85.65 percent.

This figure exceeds the average national recovery rate, which is 83.40 percent. Then, the death rate for Covid-19 patients continued to decline.

"The cure rate for West Java is also above the national level, which is 85 percent. That's one of the highest. Then our mortality rate is consistently the lowest, thousands of other provinces, but we are only 900 out of 51 thousand total cases, or around 1.7 percent," he said.
