    A gun battle occurred in Nduga Papua, three TNI soldiers were injured

    UMMAT DAILY ■ For the umpteenth time, TNI troops carrying out regional security activities were attacked by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The Joint TNI Team which was on patrol to ensure the security of the area was attacked by KKB from the Egianus Kogoya group around Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua, on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

    This was conveyed by the Head of Information at the Joint Defense Region Command III (Kapen Kogabwilhan III) Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa in Jakarta, Thursday (26/11/2020).
    "Today's gunfire occurred at around 15:15 around Kendibam Village, Kenyam District, Kab. Nduga, "he said.

    Furthermore, Kapen Kogabwilhan revealed that the TNI troops involved in the armed clashes were Joint Forces originating from Infantry Battalion R 700 / WYC which had a routine task of securing the Nduga Papua area from interference from armed groups like this. The fire contact lasted for about 30 minutes. Until late in the evening, the TNI was still pursuing the group.

    From this incident, there were three TNI soldiers who suffered gunshot wounds and had received their first treatment in the field and were evacuated this afternoon from the scene of the incident to Mimika Hospital safely using the Indonesian Air Force Heli Caracal.

    "The person concerned is in a stable condition and fine. After all, the TNI is ready to make any sacrifice for the safety of the Papuan people and the Indonesian nation, "said Suriastawa.

    While information from TNI Soldiers who were directly involved in the gunfire, the surrounding community and evidence found around the scene, it is possible that KKB was shot and seriously injured, but as usual, they were taken away and hidden by their colleagues.

    "The TNI will never tire of securing the Papua region from disturbance groups such as the KKB and will continue to pursue them so that Papua can be peaceful and safe, especially ahead of the month of peace and love in order to welcome the 2020 Christmas celebrations," said Suriastawa in the end.
