The rupiah closed down 30 points or 0.21 percent at Rp. 14,120 per US dollar compared to the previous day at Rp. 14,090 per US dollar.
"Indeed, negative sentiment arose from the worsening pandemic in many countries," said Bank Mandiri money market analyst Rully Arya Wisnubroto in Jakarta, Monday.

The rupiah opened higher in the morning to Rp 14,070 per US dollar. During the day, the rupiah moved in the range of Rp. 14,070 per US dollar to Rp. 14,137 per US dollar.
Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia's middle rate on Monday showed that the rupiah strengthened to Rp 14,128 per US dollar compared to the previous day's position of Rp 14,145 per US dollar.
